Chris Wilder praises ‘magic’ Bielsa ahead of Championship clash with Leeds

Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder has praised ‘magic’ Marcelo Bielsa as he prepares his side to take on promotion rivals Leeds this weekend.

The Yorkshire rivals clash at Elland Road on Saturday lunchtime, with Sheffield United trailing their second-placed opponents by two points as the duo bid for promotion to the Premier League.

The Championship looks to be a three-horse race for the two automatic promotion places, with just four points separating Norwich City at the top and Sheffield United in third.

Wilder was full of praise for the impact Argentine Bielsa has had since arriving at Elland Road last summer, with the former Marseille and Athletic Bilbao manager having turned Leeds – who finished 13th in the Championship last season – into genuine title contenders.

“The manager has worked at the highest level and they’ve gone all out to get him to turn their club around,” Wilder told BBC Radio Sheffield.

“He’s sprinkled his magic dust and they’ve got a good group of players.”
