Chelsea have told Barcelona to forget any hopes they have of signing Andreas Christensen in the January transfer window.
The Danish defender has found playing-time restricted under Maurizio Sarri this season, with reports this week suggesting Spanish champions Barcelona were keen on making a move for Christensen in the winter window.
The 22-year-old has spoken of his frustration at falling out-of-favour under Sarri, having been a regular at the club under predecessor Antonio Conte.
Despite having struggled for opportunities so far this season, Sky Sports are reporting that Chelsea will be rebuff any offers for the centre-back, with the club’s hierarchy unwilling to sanction the sale of a player they have helped to develop.
Christensen arrived at Chelsea as a teenager in 2013 before spending two seasons on-loan at German side Borussia Monchengladbach between 2015-17.
After making 82 appearances for the Bundelisga side, the defender returned to Chelsea and featured 40 times in all competitions last season.
