Chelsea are in advanced talks over a deal to sign Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Barcelona.
Thomas Tuchel’s side are in negotiations over a deal to bring the former Arsenal captain back to the Premier League, with the fee being discussed believed to be between £15m and £25m.
Aubameyang signed for Barcelona on a free transfer during the January transfer window and scored 13 goals in 23 appearances for the Spanish side last season, but has since seen Robert Lewandowski arrive to become first-choice centre-forward at the Camp Nou.
Sky Sports are reporting that negotiations are at an advanced stage with Tuchel keen to work again with a forward who scored 79 goals in just two seasons under his management at Borussia Dortmund.
The 33-year-old scored 92 goals in 163 game after leaving Dortmund for Arsenal, but departed in the winter window after a fall-out with Mikel Arteta. Aubameyang was stripped of the club captaincy in north London for alleged disciplinary breaches, before joining Barcelona on a free transfer.
Aubemyang’s arrival would add a recognised centre-forward option to the Chelsea squad, with the Blues having allowed Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner to depart this summer.
