Chelsea are ready to step up their pursuit of Napoli full-back Elseid Hysaj.
Maurizio Sarri had been keen to reunited with a player he managed during his time in Naples and Chelsea have been encouraged by the player’s ongoing contract dispute at the club.
Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has grown frustrated with the players demands to re-sign, and is now prepared to sanction the sale of the Albanian defender.
According to Albania’s Telesport the move will happen in the summer and is not likely to take place in the January transfer window.
Should the 24-year-old arrive at Stamford Bridge, he will provide competition at right-back for Cesar Azplicueta whilst the futures of Victor Moses and David Zappacosta are likely to come under threat. Moses has barely featured since Sarri’s arrival at the club whilst Zappacosta has been linked with a return to Italy with Lazio and Inter Milan.
