Chelsea star Eden Hazard put in a man of the match performance during his sides 2-1 win away to Newcastle at the weekend, despite the mercurial playmaker being on the end of some pretty physical treatment from the Geordie defenders.
Belgium international Hazard has been the most fouled player in the Premier League since his arrival in West London back in 2012, with opposition defenders often resorting to roughhouse tactics to stop the talented attacker in his tracks.
However, 27-year-old Hazard rarely complains when he is fouled, admirably just getting up and getting on with his game. He has now said that it is not in his nature to complain about the rough treatment, insisting it only makes him want to play even better:
“The Premier League is always like this – every weekend is the same,” Hazard told the press after the Newcastle game.
“But I’m not complaining, I try to do my job and when you have the ball, you get kicked so no complaints. You just try to play better.
“I felt tired after the game but, at the end, I was happy with the result and the goal. When you win games you forget that you are tired so now we have one week to rest and be ready for the next game.
