Ruben Loftus-Cheek has agreed a new deal at Chelsea, committing his long-term future to the club.
The England international is set to sign an improved contract at Stamford Bridge, with the Telegraph reporting it is likely to be a five-year deal and worth in the region of £150,000-a-week, which would represent a significant increase on his current contract which still has two years left to run.
The 23-year-old is currently recovering from an Achilles injury that is likely to keep him out of action for six months, however the midfielder will hope to establish himself as a key figure under new manager Frank Lampard.
Former Chelsea midfielder and Derby manager Lampard is likely to be announced as Maurizio Sarri’s successor this week, and Loftus-Cheek’s commitment to the club will provide a welcome boost.
The academy graduate made 40 appearances for Chelsea last season, scoring 10 goals and providing a further five assists as the club secured a top-four finish and won the Europa League.
