Chelsea are close to making their third signing of the summer after agreeing a £40m fee for a Tiemoue Bakayoko.
The Premier League champions have been strongly linked with making a move for the French midfielder but the deal has stalled in recent weeks.
The delay in agreeing a deal had given Manchester United hope that they could sneak in and beat the Blues to the midfielders signing, however according to Sky Sports this morning, Chelsea have finally agreed a £40m fee with the Ligue 1 Champions.
They claim that the midfielder will jet into England this week to complete his medical before finalising a deal to become only Chelsea’s third summer signing. The first man to arrive at Stamford Bridge this summer was Willy Caballero on a free transfer, before Antonio Rudiger arrived from Roma last week.
There had been rumours on social media this that the deal to sign Bakayoko could have been more problematic due to a knee injury which was suffered towards the end of last season, but it is believed that he will be fit enough to pass a medical after he underwent surgery at the end of last season.
His arrival could pave the way for Nemanja Matic to leave.
