Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has hailed the devastating ability of his star attacker Eden Hazard.
The mercurial Belgium international was heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid this summer, with the 27-year-old hinting after the World Cup that it may be time for him to leave Stamford Bridge in search of a new challenge.
However, Hazard has since revealed that he expects to stay in West London for this season at least, although he still seems reluctant to commit his future to the Blues beyond his current contract which expires in 2020.
Hazard has only been fit enough to feature from the substitutes bench in Chelsea’s opening two Premier League fixtures – wins over Huddersfield and Arsenal – but his manager Sarri has admitted that despite the talented playmaker not being fully fit the impact he can have on games after appearing late on is superb.
“Right now, like the veterans of the World Cup, he still does not have 90 minutes in his legs, but it is clear that inserting him in the last 30 minutes is something devastating.” Sarri told the press after his sides 3-2 win over Arsenal last weekend.
