Former England international Ashley Cole is being linked with a return to English football after his contract at LA Galaxy expired.

The former Arsenal and Chelsea left-back, who won 107 caps for England, has been with the Galaxy since 2016 but is now a free agent with the MLS side deciding not to extend the veteran’s deal.

The Mirror are reporting that Cole, 37, is keen on a return to England and has offers from several Championship clubs.

Cole’s former Chelsea team-mate Frank Lampard, now manager at Derby County, is believed to be interested in taking the full-back to Pride Park whilst Aston Villa, where John Terry is assistant, are also reportedly keen.

Cole, who has won more FA Cups than any other player, arrived in LA after an unsuccessful stint in Italy with Roma. He was appointed captain of the club ahead of 2018 and made 94 appearances for the club, scoring three goals.
