Celtic set to complete deals for two strikers this week

Celtic look set to complete deals for two new forwards this week as they look to strengthen their attacking options.

Brendan Rodgers had been keen to add further firepower to his squad, with Odsonne Edouard having shouldered much of the responsibility this season with Leigh Griffiths taking a break from football for personal reasons.

The Daily Star are reporting that Rodgers has lined up moves for two players, and has made a £1.75m bid for Ivory Coast U23 international Vakoun Issouf Bayo.

The 21-year-old has scored 14 goals for Slovak team Dunajska Streda and has also attracted interest from the likes of Galatasary and Rapid Vienna.

The Scottish champions are also hopeful of agreeing a loan deal for Paris Saint-Germain youngster Timothy Weah, son of Ballon D’or winner George, and hope to sign the 18-year-old on a temporary deal.

Weah represents the United States at international level and has been capped eight times for the senior side, scoring once.

Celtic are also believed to be interested in a further loan addition, with West Brom winger Oliver Burke a reported target.
