Celtic goalkeeping legend Packie Bonner praised his former side’s performance as the Hoops thrashed Hearts 5-0 at Parkhead in the Scottish Premiership on Saturday afternoon.
The Irishman, who made over 600 appearances for the Glasgow club, believes the victory was partly due to the tactics deployed by the visitors.
”Absolutely fantastic, good to watch, Celtic were helped by the way Hearts set themselves up,’’ Bonner told BBC Sport, adding “Hearts had no-one putting pressure on the ball.”
Goals from Filip Benkovic, James Forrest, Ryan Christie and a brace from Odsonne Edouard see move Celtic to within a point of their table-topping opponents, and Bonner questioned whether or not this form can continue in Europe.
‘”It will be really interesting see if they can continue this in European football – that’s the challenge for them.”
The Edinburgh club remain in first place on 26 points, one point ahead of reigning champions who have played a game less.
