Bournemouth head to the Czech Republic on Thursday for their next UEFA Europa League fixture, taking on Sparta Prague away from home as they aim to keep their perfect European record going.
The Cherries are enjoying a remarkable and historic run of form, having won six matches in a row in all competitions. Every one of those wins has come by at least two goals, and Marco Rose’s team have not let in a single goal throughout that stretch. In what is their first-ever European campaign, they remain unbeaten and sit fourth in the Europa League standings, having beaten AC Milan 3-0 in their most recent continental outing. On the domestic front, they also cruised past Aston Villa 3-0 in the EFL Cup and saw off Leeds United 2-0.
Bournemouth team news
Bournemouth were dealt two fresh setbacks before the game. Young Hungarian midfielder Alex Tóth will be out for several months and is not expected back until the new year after having surgery on a hamstring problem.
Juanlu Sánchez has also been ruled out after sustaining ankle ligament damage while playing for the Under-21 development side.
Midfielder Alex Scott is still unavailable because of a thigh injury, though he has begun training on his own on the grass. The club are, however, holding him back with a view to possibly bringing him back for Sunday’s match against Ipswich Town.
Julián Araujo and Veljko Milosavljević are also still recovering from their respective injuries, while striker Eli Junior Kroupi cannot be selected for the European tie because of squad registration rules, even though he has recently come back from foot surgery.
