Borussia Dortmund are set to face VfB Stuttgart in their last Bundesliga fixture before the season pauses for international duty. The visitors will be aiming to secure another victory on Saturday and maintain their perfect winning record in the freshly started league campaign.

Dortmund have made an impressive and goal-filled beginning to the new league schedule. After suffering an early defeat in the DFL-Supercup, the Black and Yellows have regrouped strongly under manager Niko Kovač, assembling a run of five consecutive wins across every competition they have entered. They currently occupy third place in the standings, having recorded back-to-back league successes against Hamburger SV (2–0) and Hoffenheim (3–2), before delivering a commanding 3–0 victory over Paderborn.

Borussia Dortmund team news

Niko Kovač’s Dortmund side head into the MHPArena riding strong momentum and with almost their entire squad fit for selection.

On the defensive side, the only notable absentees are club captain Emre Can, who continues to recover from a serious long-term cruciate ligament problem, and young prospect Filippo Mané, who is out with a muscle-related concern. Giannis Konstantelias also remains sidelined following an ACL injury.

On the positive side, Dortmund receive a significant boost as teenager Konstantinos Karetsas has returned to full training after resolving recent circulatory difficulties.

Important defenders Nico Schlotterbeck and Ramy Bensebaini have both been declared fully available.

At the front, Dortmund’s dynamic attacking unit will see the welcome return of Serhou Guirassy, a former Stuttgart standout, who is expected to lead the line together with Fábio Silva.

With creative support from Ethan Nwaneri and Jobe Bellingham, the away side arrive in excellent shape and well placed to take advantage of Stuttgart’s thinned-out options.
