Chelsea manager Sonia Bompastor has said the club’s domestic treble will be a part of history after victory over Manchester United in the Women’s FA Cup final.
The West Londoners cruised to a 3-0 win at Wembley and opened the scoring through Sandy Baltimore’s penalty in first-half stoppage time.

Holders Manchester United struggled to get a foothold in the game and an inevitable second arrived for Chelsea six minutes from time. Catarina Macario rose highest to meet Baltimore’s free-kick and put the result beyond doubt.
There was time for more from Chelsea, as Baltimore capped a superb display with her second. Manchester United gifted the Blues back possession with a poor back pass and Chelsea capitalised. Baltimore lashed in a fierce finish to seal cup success.
It caps a dream first season in charge for Bompastor, who believes Chelsea’s achievement, the eighth domestic treble in English football history, will now be a part of history.
“The players really deserve [to celebrate]. We still have one week to practice but we need to enjoy this. To achieve a treble in England, it’s difficult to find the right words to describe that,” she told BBC Sport.
On winning the treble, Bompastor added: “It means a lot. I always say I want to make sure in every club I am manager that we have good values, the right values, and I want my players to really enjoy it. We worked hard all through the season. It was not easy and to achieve that, it will be part of history.”
