Marcelo Bielsa has rued Leeds lack of ‘balance’ after their promotion hopes took a blow with a 1-0 defeat at Birmingham at the weekend.
Che Adams’ 22nd goal of the season secured a vital win for struggling Birmingham, allowing Sheffield United to move back above Leeds into the automatic promotion places.
Bielsa’s side now sit third in the Championship with just six games remaining, and the Argentine admitted his frustration after his side’s latest slip-up.
“We could have drawn the game, we could have lost the game by more goals and we could have won the game too,” said Bielsa.
“In the moments of the game that we could control, we couldn’t make chances.
“In attack we had a lot of time on the ball but we didn’t have enough balance. We couldn’t create the difference in the result and they started to play a style of game that was hard for us to solve.
“We didn’t take advantage of the chances we created, but we didn’t create a lot of chances and we couldn’t show the difference between the two teams.
“When we had the ball, we should have created more chances, in five chances they scored one goal, we created the same number of chances and could not score.
“We needed to take more advantage of our moments in the game, but at the same time they could have scored more goals.”
