Marcelo Bielsa has provided an update on Leeds’ list of injuries ahead of this weekend’s trip to face Arsenal at the Emirates.
Leeds travel to face the north London side on Sunday looking to build on a 2-0 win over Crystal Palace, a result which moved the club above the Gunners and into the Premier League’s top half.
Bielsa’s side are suffering from a number of injuries at present and the Argentine confirmed that Kalvin Phillips is a doubt for this weekend’s clash with Arsenal, the England international substituted after sustaining a muscular injury against the Eagles.
Centre-back duo Robin Koch and Diego Llorente also remain unavailable as they continue their recovery from injury, the latter having endured a frustrating first season in the Premier League following a succession of fitness issues.
โThereโs not a definite position at the moment on whether Kalvin Phillips will be able to play or not,” Bielsa told his pre-match press conference.
โIn the case of Robin Koch, week to week we are verifying when he can return. With regards Diego Llorente, itโs a day to day thing.
“The daily evaluation of their injuries will start to tell us when they can return. For the moment, no player is coming back and Kalvin remains a doubt.โ
Rodrigo and Ian Poveda are all also out of the clash with Arsenal with groin and ankle injuries respectively, whilst Pablo Hernandez is unlikely to be risked after missing the win over Crystal Palace on Monday night.
