Bayern Munich will look to climb above Borussia Dortmund and move into first place in the Bundesliga when they travel to the WWK Arena to face Augsburg on Saturday.
The reigning champions go into the fixture in excellent form and currently sit second in the league. Bayern remain unbeaten this season, having recently recorded a convincing 7-0 win over 1. FC Union Berlin and a closely fought 2-1 victory against SV Elversberg. Their only recent setback was a goalless draw with Schalke 04, while they began their Champions League campaign dominantly, beating FK Bodø/Glimt 5-0.
Bayern Munich team news
Bayern will be without a key attacking midfielder for the trip to FC Augsburg. Jamal Musiala has been officially ruled out after tearing a muscle fibre in his right thigh while on international duty with Germany.
He has since returned to light, individual training, but head coach Vincent Kompany has confirmed that Saturday’s match will come too soon for him to make a full return.
With a demanding schedule of domestic and European matches ahead, Kompany has indicated that he does not plan to make wholesale changes, preferring to preserve the team’s tactical consistency.
Serge Gnabry and Ismael Saibari are the leading options to fill the creative number 10 role in Musiala’s absence.
The rest of the squad remains in a stable position, with Harry Kane expected to lead the attack and Michael Olise and Luis Díaz likely to provide support from the wings.

Possible Bayern Munich starting XI: Neuer; Laimer, Upamecano, Tah, Davies; Pavlovic, Kimmich; Olise, Saibari, Diaz; Kane
