Bayern Munich are reportedly monitoring Liverpool star Roberto Firmino ahead of an ambitious move to sign the forward this summer.
The German giants are current considering several options as they seek to refresh their squad at the end of the season, with Firmino and Manchester City winger Leroy Sane emerging as top targets for the Bayern hierarchy following stand-out performances in the Premier League in recent seasons.
Firmino has played an influential role in Liverpool‘s successes of late, forming a devastating partnership with Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane and providing an unselfish attacking focal point for Jurgen Klopp’s side with his unique blend of industry and creativity.
According to the Sun, however, Bayern are hopeful of landing the 28-year-old in a £75m deal this summer, the Bundesliga side believing Klopp may be willing to allow one of his star trio to leave amid the Merseyside club’s interest in signing RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner.
Klopp is believed to have held a long-standing interest in Germany international Werner, the 23-year-old having enjoyed a prolific spell with Leipzig and currently enjoying the best goalscoring season of his career with 25 goals in all competitions.
Despite the Reds’ alleged interest in Werner, who is believed to favour a move to Anfield this summer, a deal for Firmino would seem unlikely with Klopp having previously spoken about the star’s importance to his side.
The Brazil international has scored 76 goals in 228 appearances since moving to English football four-and-a-half years ago, whilst he still has more than three years remaining on the long term contract he signed recommitting his future to the club in April 2018.
