Barcelona are plotting an audacious £100m move for Manchester United star Marcus Rashford, according to reports in Spain.
The 21-year-old has attracted interest from a host of Europe’s top clubs, with Real Madrid having also been linked with a move for the academy graduate.
Barcelona, who face Manchester United in the Champions League quarter-finals next month, are now believed to have targeted Rashford as they plan their summer recruitment.
The Spanish champions are planning ahead for the retirements of Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi, with the star duo now both in their early thirties, and Nou Camp officials have placed Rashford on a three-man shortlist.
The United youngster’s current deal expires in 2020, and Old Trafford officials are keen to finalise a deal with Rashford’s representatives to secure the player’s long-term future.
The England international has thrived since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s appointment as manager, scoring eight goals in eighteen appearances, and is believed to have no desire to leave his boyhood club.
According to Mundo Deportivo Barcelona are now prepared to test the club’s resolve as United and Rashford continue contract talks, with Atletico Madrid’s Antoine Griezmann and Frankfurt’s on-loan Serbian striker Luka Jovic also being considered.
