Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi ‘just keeps getting better and better’, according to the Argentine’s former teammate Xavi.
The 31-year-old has been in sensational form for the Spanish giants this season, scoring 43 goals and providing 21 assists in 40 appearances in all competitions.
Messi is the Champions League’s top scorer this season with eight goals, level with Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski, and will be key to his side’s chances of winning a sixth European crown.
Barcelona travel to face Manchester United at Old Trafford in the first leg of their quarter-final tie on Wednesday night, and former Spain and Barcelona midfielder Xavi has warned Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side that it is virtually impossible to keep the five-times Ballon D’or winner quiet.
”Messi just keeps getting better and better he is the best ever and this season is looking as dangerous as ever,” Xavi told the Mirror.
”When he is like this he is impossible to keep quiet. Suarez has a lot of experience of playing Manchester United as well – and getting goals for him in this game would mean a lot to him. ”
