Atalanta have placed a €70m price-tag on Manchester United target Rasmus Hojland and will demand a cash-only deal for the forward.
Hojland is a transfer target for the Premier League side after an exciting debut campaign at Atalanta, with Erik ten Hag keen to strengthen his squad with the signing of a centre-forward this summer.
Hojland scored 10 goals in all competitions last season and has made an instant impact at international level with six goals in six caps for Denmark, including a hat-trick on his first start for the national side.
United have held negotiations with Atalanta over a potential deal, with the prospect of including players in part-exchange discussed.
However, Fabrizio Romano is reporting that Atalanta will demand a cash-only deal for the 20-year-old and value Hojland at around €70m (£60m).
Ten Hag has made the signing of a centre-forward a priority for the transfer window after an over-reliance on Marcus Rashford for goals last season. Anthony Martial struggled for form and fitness, while Wout Weghorst’s loan deal was not extended after an underwhelming spell at Old Trafford that saw the Dutchman fail to score a league goal.
United will push for a number nine after concluding a deal to sign Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana, with the Red Devils closing in on an agreement for the Cameroon international.
