Andre Onana’s move to Manchester United is ‘imminent’ with the club closing in on an agreement with Inter Milan.
United have been in negotiations with Inter over a deal to sign Onana and the two clubs are nearing an agreement on the details of a deal.
Fabrizio Romano is reporting that the Cameroon international will travel to Manchester for medical tests and to finalise his move to the Premier League, before joining the squad on their pre-season tour of the United States.
Onana’s arrival will be a major boost to Erik ten Hag as he nears his second signing of the summer, with the Dutchman having pushed for a deal for the 27-year-old after working alongside the goalkeeper at former club Ajax.
Onana had been identified as the club’s first-choice replacement for David de Gea, who departed the Red Devils as a free agent when his contract expired earlier this month.
He impressed during a strong debut season at Inter Milan that saw the Italian side reach the Champions League final and the fee is expected to be in the region of €55m (£47.2m) including add-ons. He will sign a five-year contract at Old Trafford with the option of a further season included.
