Aston Villa are interested in signing Curtis Jones from Liverpool as the midfielder nears the final months of his deal at Anfield.
Jones will enter the final 12 months of his contract at the end of the season and negotiations over an extension have stalled. The 25-year-old is now considering his options with Aston Villa monitoring the situation.
Jones has made 222 appearances for Liverpool since emerging from the academy but has struggled to nail down an automatic role.
He’s started just 12 times in the Premier League this season and could be enticed to leave his boyhood side for regular first-team football.
TEAMtalk are reporting that Aston Villa are among the clubs keen on the midfielder, who has won six caps for England.
Arne Slot has admitted Liverpool will need to sell before buying this summer, increasing the likelihood of an exit.
The Reds are reluctant to let Jones enter the final season of his deal, having lost fellow academy product Trent Alexander-Arnold to Real Madrid for a nominal fee last summer.
