AS Roma welcome Cagliari to the Stadio Olimpico on Tuesday for a midweek Serie A meeting, with Gian Piero Gasperini’s side looking to preserve their unbeaten start to the league season.
Roma sit third in the table on 18 points from eight matches. Across their previous five league fixtures, they have recorded three victories and two draws. They come into this game after an entertaining 3-3 draw away at Napoli, while in Europe they followed a 4-3 loss to Real Madrid in the Champions League with a dominant 4-0 home win against Slovan Bratislava.
AS Roma team news
Gasperini has several important players unavailable for the visit of Cagliari. First-choice goalkeeper Mile Svilar is out, as are midfielder Manu Koné and former captain Lorenzo Pellegrini.
There is better news in central midfield, however, with Bryan Cristante having recovered from a knock and expected to start.
The main doubt is Paulo Dybala, who has rejoined group training after missing three matches with a calf problem but is likely to be named among the substitutes.
After the demanding draw with Napoli, rotation seems probable, and 19-year-old right-back Emanuele Lulli could be handed a start on the right side of the defence.
AS Roma predicted lineup
Possible AS Roma starting XI: Gollini; Balerdi, Ndicka, Koulierakis; Lulli, De Roon, Cristante, Molina; Mora, Soule; Malen
When will the match kick off?
The match will kick off at 8:45pm BST on Tuesday, 27th October.
