Arsenal make the trip across town to face Chelsea in a Premier League London Derby this weekend.
The Gunners are seeking improved fortunes after back-to-back defeats to Newcastle and Inter Milan, while three games without a win in the Premier League has seen Mikel Arteta’s team drop off the pace.
Arsenal have not won in the Premier League for over a month, since beating Southampton at the Emirates on October 5th. With ground to make up on the teams above them, Arsenal can not afford another slip-up at Chelsea.
However, their London rivals are in good form. Enzo Maresca’s side sit above Arsenal on goal difference and warmed up for this weekend with a record-breaking 8-0 thrashing of FC Noah in the Europa Conference League.
Arsenal XI vs Chelsea – Predicted lineup and team news
Arsenal team news
Arsenal have injury concerns ahead of the clash with Mikel Arteta confirming in Friday’s pre-match press conference that Declan Rice has not trained this week. Rice broke his toe at Newcastle last weekend and sat out the midweek defeat at Inter. The 25-year-old has been named in the England squad for the upcoming games and could be asked to play through the pain barrier at Stamford Bridge.
There was more positive news on Martin Odegaard, who is fit to start after making his return from the bench in Europe. Mikel Merino and Kai Havertz will be assessed ahead of the clash. The latter sustained a head injury against Inter and is a doubt to face his former team.
Arsenal predicted lineup
Arsenal predicted XI: Raya; White, Saliba, Gabriel, Timber; Odegaard, Partey, Rice; Saka, Havertz, Martinelli.
