Kieran Gibbs’ proposed move to Watford is off according to reports today.
Sky Sports are reporting that the Hornets have been unable to agree personal terms with the Arsenal left back, and have subsequently pulled out of the deal.
Watford agreed a fee with the Gunners last week, believed to be in the region of £12m, and have been discussing personal terms with the former England international. Despite it being reported he was keen to work with newly appointed Watford boss Marco Silva, he has been unable agree on personal terms.
He has also attracted the attention of West Bromwich Albion earlier in the window, who had a £10m bid rejected by Arsenal.
Gibbs has slipped down the pecking order at the Emirates, with Nacho Monreal playing the majority of games for the Gunners last season. The arrival of Sead Kolasinac from Schalke this summer will limit the 27-year-olds opportunities even further. However, with less than 72 hours to go until the window slams shut, Gibbs is in a race against time to find alternative employers.
