Arsenal target N’Zonzi on the verge of Roma exit

Arsenal target Steven N’Zonzi could be set for an exit from Roma, less than a year after arriving in the Italian capital.

The Serie A side are undergoing a transitional period, with manager Eusebio De Francesco sacked following their Champions League exit to Porto, and replaced by former Chelsea and Leicester manager Claudio Ranieri.

Roma have endured an indifferent campaign this season, the Giallorossi are currently 5th in Serie A and face the prospect of missing out on Champions League qualification.

Reports in Italy are speculating French World Cup winner N’Zonzi could now be set to leave the club, having only arrived from Sevilla last summer.

Calciomercato are reporting N’Zonzi is nearing an exit, and Arsenal could revive their interest in the long-term target.

Unai Emery knows the player well having coached the Frenchman at Sevilla, and could make a move to bring the former Stoke City and Blackburn player back to the Premier League.

The Gunners are likely to face competition for the midfielder, with French side Marseille also reportedly interested.
