It’s promises to be one of the stories of the summer, but Alexis Sanchez could have taken a step closer to the Emirates exit door.

Reports suggest that the players agent, Fernando Felicevich, has met with club officials at Bayern Munich to discuss a summer transfer.

The potential departure from the Emirates has already rumbled on for a some time after the Chilean has let his contract dwindle down towards the final twelve months. Arsenal are keen to keep their prize asset, who bagged 29 goals for the Gunners this season, but are yet to agree on a new deal.

Following Arsenal’s fifth place finish in the Premier League this season, and the subsequent lack of Champions League action next term, the chances of Sanchez signing a new deal seem to have significantly reduced.

El Mercurio claim that Sanchez’s agent has opened talks with Bayern Munich, who are willing to pay £50million for the 27-year-old forward. That would represent excellent business for Arsenal, considering that the player could open negotiations in December regarding a transfer away from the club for free!

The Bundesliga champions are willing to pay Sanchez up to £11m-a-year and could make space in their squad by selling Brazilian winger Douglas Costa.
