Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey has not been included in the Ghana squad for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations.
The 30-year-old was expected to form part of the Black Stars challenge at the tournament, which will be hosted in the Ivory Coast between January 13 and February 11. However, Partey has not been named in the Ghana squad, as he recovers from the injury problems that have plagued his season.
The midfielder has not featured for Arsenal in the Premier League since the 1-0 win over Manchester City on October 8th, after sustaining a hamstring injury. His absence followed another spell out earlier in the campaign with a groin complaint.
Partey has returned to first-team training with the Gunners and his availability over the coming months will be a big boost to Mikel Arteta, whose side have dropped to fourth after three games without a win.
Had Partey linked up with Ghana, he could have missed up to four Premier League games, including a clash with title rivals Liverpool. Arsenal also face Liverpool in the FA Cup third round next weekend.

In his absence, Ghana, who are under the management of former Brighton and Newcastle boss Chris Hughton, are aiming to win a first AFCON title since 1982.
