Arsenal are have made a last ditch attempt to keep Alexis Sanchez at the club beyond the summer.
Sanchez has just one year remaining on his deal at the Emirates and has so far failed to agree a new deal. Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United have all been linked over recent months, while Bayern Munich have apparently made contact over a potential summer move. Paris Saint-German and Juventus are also interested
In the wake of Arsenal’s failure to qualify for the Champions League, speculation has increased that Sanchez will leave the club this summer.
However, according to the Daily Mail, Arsenal have made a last ditch attempt to keep the Chilean. They have offered him a bumper new £270,000-a-week deal to make him the highest paid player in the club’s history.
However, that figure is still short of the £300,000-a-week that Sanchez has been demanding of the Gunners. Talks are due to continue after this weekends FA Cup final where Arsenal hope to end a disappointing season with a trophy.
If Sanchez fails to agree a new deal, Arsenal could cash in for around £50m, or face losing their star for free next summer.
