Arsenal legend thinks ‘awesome’ Ozil would be ‘unbelievable’ at Man Utd

Arsenal legend Ian Wright thinks that Mesut Ozil would be unbelievable for Manchester United should he decide to move to Old Trafford.

The German has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford in recent months, after letting his contract dwindle down into its final six months. Whether he moves for a cut price fee this month, or for free in the summer, is yet to be seem, but the assist king looks all but certain to be on his way out of the Emirates in the near future.

Now, speaking to Sky Sports News, Arsenal legend Ian Wright believes that Ozil would make Manchester United even stronger. He said:

“I don’t think he’s that type of player who will drag a team by its bootlaces through a game, but if your team is playing well, he will sprinkle stardust.

“With the players he’d be playing with at United as well, he is unbelievable. He is just awesome, and with the right team, and the right movement in front of him, he is easily one of the best I’ve seen. He’s amazing.

“Is this difficult to say? Yeah. And we can’t keep arguably two of the best players, arguably in the history of the club, ability-wise. It’s sad times.”

Ozil was forced to miss Wednesday’s Carabao Cup semi final draw at Stamford Bridge through an unspecified injury.

The 29-year-old is likely to be joined out of the Arsenal exit door by his teammate Alexis Sanchez, who has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester City, although reports today suggest that Man United have made a bid to rival the Blues’ interest.
