Arsenal legend David Seaman admits he’d be happy if Tottenham won the Champions League.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side advanced to the quarter-finals with a 1-0 away victory over German side Borussia Dortmund, sealing a 4-0 win on aggregate.
Former England goalkeeper Seaman, who spent 13 years on the opposite side of the North London rivalry, admits he would want Spurs to win the competition if they were playing foreign opposition.
Asked how brilliant would it be if Spurs won the Champions League, Seaman told talkSPORT: “I know, that’d be ace, wouldn’t it!”
“No seriously, I swear, I would want them to win. If they were in a final against a foreign team I would want Tottenham to beat them, no doubt about that.
“Say Tottenham were playing Bayern Munich, Barcelona, whoever – I would want the English team to win.”
The 55-year-old was then asked if he supported Manchester United in their 1999 final despite being Arsenal’s biggest rivals at that time, to which he added: “Of course I did, there’s no question about it,”
“I played 75 times for my country, I’d want the English team to win. That’s just the way I am.”
