Arsenal legend Kanu has admitted that he admires new Gunners boss Unai Emery for sticking by the principles of how he thinks the game should be played.
Despite winning their last two Premier League games against West Ham and newly-promoted Cardiff, Emery’s tactical approach has been questioned by a large amount fans and pundits, with many suggesting the Spanish coach may have to adjust his style a little to suit the nature of English football.
However, Kanu actually seems impressed that Emery is determined to succeed playing his own brand of football.
“The good thing about him is he knows his trade,” Kanu told ESPN.
“He’s been at PSG, won trophies over there.
“He’s bringing the same thing to Arsenal and if you look at what he’s doing, he’s not changing his way of playing.
“He’s strong, he wants his own way, which is good.
“Now we have to get used to his way and the players as well know that he doesn’t mess around with anybody. He wants his way, you have to do it, which is good.”
