Arsenal have confirmed the departures of four first-team players with David Luiz and Martin Odegaard amongst the players to leave the club this summer.
The north London side have announced the names of the players who will depart the Emirates at the end of their contracts on June 30, with Luiz already an expected departure following a decision not to renew the veteran defender’s contract.
Luiz signed for the Gunners in an £8m deal from London rivals Chelsea and has made 73 appearances in all competitions across two seasons with the club.
Also confirmed as departures are loanees Odegaard, Dani Ceballos and Mat Ryan, the former duo returning to Real Madrid after temporary spells in the Premier League.
Arsenal are understood to be keen on signing Odegaard on a permanent basis following the Norway international’s performances since his winter window arrival, though recent reports have suggested Real Madrid will demand a fee of around €60m for the 22-year-old – a fee which may prove prohibitive for Mikel Arteta’s side.
Meanwhile, Ryan signed for the club on loan from Premier League rivals Brighton as goalkeeping cover in January and made three appearances, with the Australian international having fallen behind Robert Sanchez in the pecking order at the Amex Stadium.
Arsenal have been linked with Ajax ‘keeper Andre Onana in recent weeks, the 25-year-old having lodged an appeal with the Court of Arbitration for Sport which sees him currently banned from all football activities for a doping offence.
