Former Chelsea manager Rosenior lined up for Ligue 1 return

Former Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior is being lined up for a potential return to Ligue 1 at Paris FC.

The capital club are understood to have held talks with Rosenior about taking charge, in the event that current coach Antoine Kombouare leaves this summer.

Kombouare has impressed at Paris FC, leading the promoted side to an 11th-place finish in Ligue 1 and comfortably clear of relegation worries. However, a stand-off over a contract extension has seen Paris FC explore contingency options.

According to L’Equipe, Rosenior is one of those contacted. The 41-year-old won plaudits at Strasbourg prior to his move to sister-club Chelsea last season.

Despite signing a five-and-a-half year deal, Rosenior’s reign lasted only three months following a disastrous time at Stamford Bridge.

He won 11 of his 23 games in all competitions and was sacked after a 3-0 defeat at Brighton in April.

That result was Chelsea’s fifth straight league loss without scoring, the club’s worst scoreless losing run since 1912.
