France have moved above Spain to become the number one ranked nation in FIFA’s latest world rankings.
Les Bleus are unbeaten since losing to Spain in the UEFA Nations League semi-final last summer and have won eight of their last nine games. March’s international break saw France claim wins over Brazil and Colombia to climb to first place in FIFA’s latest update.
Portugal also rise, moving above Brazil and into the top five. England remain fourth, behind France, Spain and world champions Argentina.
Elsewhere, Morocco are the highest-ranked non-European or South American nation, at eighth. Japan are Asian football’s highest nation, moving up to 18th, after wins over Scotland and England during the recent break.
