Man Utd outcast Marcus Rashford wanted by five clubs

Man Utd player Marcus Rashford is reportedly attracting interest from five clubs ahead of the summer transfer window.

The forward spent last season on loan with Barcelona after falling out with then manager Ruben Amorim. He scored 14 goals and created 11 assists in all competitions, helping the club win the La Liga title.

With two years remaining on his contract, Rashford’s future at Old Trafford is uncertain, though he won’t lack for suitors this summer.

According to The i Paper, Bayern Munich, Aston Villa, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur are all interested in signing Rashford.

Man Utd are looking to shift the player’s ginormous £325,000-a-week wages, and they are confident they can get a “respectable fee” due to the competition for his signature.

Anthony Gordon’s arrival at Barça could lead Newcastle to signing the 28-year-old as his replacement, while Aston Villa may re-sign him after the spent the second half of the 2024/25 season on loan at Villa Park.

Tottenham are “keen to add Premier League experience” to their squad, which is one of the youngest in the division.

Bayern, meanwhile, are “assessing the situation”. They are looking to add depth and competition on the flanks for Michael Olise and Luis Diaz.

Barcelona hold the option to buy Rashford for £26m until 15th June. Though it is claimed that senior figures at the Catalan club would like to hold onto the England international, they “do not intend to come close to that figure”. They are more likely to let the deadline pass and make a bid closer to £15m, if they make one at all.

Barça are also trying to sign Julian Alvarez, which would rule out the possibility of a permanent deal for Rashford.
