With the Premier League returning for another season, we have ranked the very worst away kits that we will be forced to look at intermittently over the next nine months.
What is your favourite (or least favourite) kit in the top flight this year? Let us know in the comments below!
Ranking the worst Premier League away kits in 2025/26
5. Newcastle United
So I guess green is now officially Newcastle United‘s tertiary colour behind black and white? This is the fourth season in a row it has been incorporated into the side’s away jersey.
Look, on the face of it, it’s not a bad kit, but the context behind it is too ugly and gross to ignore. The Magpies’ Saudi owners are exploiting one of English football’s most iconic clubs to wash their brutal image to the world.
Away days write their own history. ✨

Newcastle’s home top is perfectly fine, while their 90’s-inspired third kit is sublime. But this one can get in the bin.

4. Aston Villa
Dull, boring, monotonous, stale, lifeless. What in the world were Adidas thinking when they came up with this Aston Villa kit?
“On away days, this Aston Villa FC jersey reminds fans of the club’s home city,” is what they say. Yeah, I don’t think this is the ode to Birmingham that Villa fans were crying out for.
no place like Brum. no club like Villa. 🦁

3. Brentford
I’ve seen this described elsewhere as “handsome”, but I simply cannot get behind this brown monstrosity by Joma. Brentford‘s green and pink Umbro away kits from last season were far superior.

2. Leeds United (third kit)
This black Leeds shirt with blue and yellow blotches is enough to make you sick. Which is fitting because it looks like someone ate their (more than adequate) home and away tops and threw them up.

1. Man City (third kit)
Puma, just what are you doing? Manchester City‘s home jersey was bad enough to be ranked number one in our list of worst home kits, now they have revealed this… thing.

Clearly this was designed to reduce me to tears because it is inspired by the Mancunian rain, featuring droplets set against a dreary grey background while the lime green trim provides a truly horrendous contrast in colours.
