Everton and Leicester have been given a boost in their pursuit of Swansea playmaker Gylfi Sigurdsson.
Both Premier League clubs have been linked with making a move for Sigurdsson this summer, with Swansea slapping a £50m price tag on his head. However, the news coming out of the club today suggests that the player is interested in making a move.
The Welsh club have confirmed that the Icelandic international has not travelled on the clubs pre-season trip to the United States, as he not ‘in the right frame of mind’ following the speculation surrounding his future
A statement on the club website reads:
Having played against Barnet last night, Gylfi did not feel in the right frame of mind to travel this morning due to the current uncertainty over his future.
Sigurdsson had a fantastic season for the Swans scoring nine goals and providing 13 assists, helping his team avoid relegation to the Championship.
The Telegraph are reporting today Everton are confident in securing a deal.
