Manchester United are reportedly ready to hand teenage star, Mason Greenwood, an improved contract at the club.
The 17-year-old is set to be rewarded with a new deal following his first-team breakthrough, with Greenwood having impressed during Manchester United‘s pre-season tour this summer.
The talented teenager, who made his first-team debut last season, has scored in friendly wins over Leeds and Inter Milan during the club’s close season, and United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has indicated the forward is in contention to start the club’s opening Premier League fixture against Chelsea on August 11.
According to the Sun, United will now reward Greenwood with improved terms, with the England youth international currently earning just £800-per-week.
That deal, Greenwood’s first professional contract which was only signed back in October last year, but is now set to be significantly increased following his impressive rise to Solskjaer’s first-team plans.
Greenwood was crowned as the club’s Young Player of the Year last season and the club are hopeful he can be the latest academy graduate to make an impact at Old Trafford.
