Hazard set for Chelsea return against Crystal Palace

Eden Hazard is set to return to action for Chelsea this weekend in their Premier League fixture against Crystal Palace according to assistant manager, Gianfranco Zola

The Belgian has been in sensational form this season, scoring seven goals and laying on three assists in just nine Premier League appearances for Chelsea.

However, he was forced to sit out of this weekend’s 4-0 demolition of Burnley after picking up a back injury in the Blues’ 2-2 draw with Manchester United the previous week.

With Chelsea set to welcome Frank Lampard back to Stamford Bridge on Wednesday evening in the Carabao Cup game against Derby County, Gianfranco Zola has said that while Hazard won’t be fit in time to face the Rams, he should be back in time to face Crystal Palace next weekend.

“He is certainly much better,” Zola told a press conference.

“I’m not sure today but tomorrow (Wednesday) he is going to be joining us in training.

“I don’t think he’s going to be involved in the game tomorrow but he is looking quite good for the weekend.

“We are pleased because he is such an important player for us.”
