Zlatan banters with Corden: West Ham can’t afford me

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been joking with James Corden that the club the Late Late Show host supports West Ham could not afford him.

37-year-old striker Zlatan is currently plying his trade in the MLS for LA Galaxy after moving to America from Manchester United last January.

Rumours have been rife recently suggesting the enigmatic Swede may return to the Premier League or another major European League on loan during the MLS off-season, but during his recent appearance on the Late Late Show, he bantered with Corden that the Hammers wouldn’t be able to handle the type of financial package he would demand.

“I’m here with my buddy James and he wants me to come to West Ham,” Ibrahimovic said in a video published on his twitter account.

“But they could not afford me. Let’s put up the viewers for the James Corden Show first.”

Corden then joked that he thinks the move will happen: “It’s happening. We’ll figure it out.

“We’ll get the ball in the box with you on the end… done. Come on you Irons.”

Zlatan may be pushing on in terms of age these days, but he certainly hasn’t lost the knack of finding the back of the onion bag, scoring 22 goals in 26 appearances Stateside – including this famous wonder strike on his debut.
