Zlatan admits he misses Old Trafford and Mourinho

LA Galaxy striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has paid an emotional tribute to his former club Manchester United on twitter.

The 36-year-old moved to Old Trafford  from French side PSG in the summer of 2016, although many observers questioned whether he would be able to succeed in the Premier League. Zlatan would soon prove his critics wrong however by finishing his first season in England as United’s top scorer with 28 goals in 46 appearances.

Sadly for the veteran striker his maiden campaign in Manchester would be cut short last April when he sustained a serious knee injury during the Red Devils Europa League quarter-final against Anderlecht.

Zlatan reisgned for United during the summer, although he would only make a further seven appearances before leaving Old Trafford for the MLS, were rather predictably he has become an immediate success.

“I want to say to all the fans: ‘I miss you, I miss playing at Old Trafford and seeing all the red shirts’. I have great memories from there,” He said.

“I want to thank everybody for the push, adrenaline and energy you gave me. I want to thank my team-mates also because you have been fantastic and you made it easy for me.

“Coach [Jose Mourinho], I miss you also. You know what you need to do to win. There is no secret behind that.”
