Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has denied reports that Gareth Bale is unhappy at the club and wants to leave in the summer.

Bale became the worlds most expensive player when he swapped the Premier League for La Liga with his £86 million move from Tottenham in 2013.

Since then he has gone on to win three Champions League titles, one La Liga crown as well as the one Copa del Rey and Supercopa de Espana winners medal each.

Despite his impressive trip haul and his 78 goals in 178 appearances for Los Blancos, his injury record has seen him restricted to 31, 27 and 28 appearances in his last three seasons respectively

Some reports have suggested that Bale has grown unhappy at the club, with Manchester United and Tottenham both having being linked with the Welshman, but this is something that Zinedine Zidane has strongly denied.

“Bale is not a sad player at Real Madrid,” the Frenchman said.

“Everyone can have their opinion, but I believe he is here and happy to be at this club. He has shown he is an important player in this team.”
