Zaha ready to hand in transfer request to force Chelsea switch

Wilfred Zaha is hoping to make a summer move to Chelsea, and is even willing to hand in a transfer request in order to force the move according to reports today.

The Crystal Palace winger has been heavily linked with a move away from Selhurst Park for a number of months after he seemingly single handedly ensured the Eagles’ Premier League safety last term.

He has attracted interest from a number of clubs, with Spurs, Everton and Borussia Dortmund all having been linked, but according to The Mirror, he is keen to force a move to Chelsea.

Zaha has already rejected the offer of an improved contract in a bid to force a move to a top six club.

So determined is the 25-year-old to make a transfer, the report claims that the Ivory Coast international is considering lodging an official transfer request, with Palace having told him they would only consider an “irresistibly huge offer”.

Palace have offered Zaha a new deal worth £125,000-a-week after he scored nine goals and provided three assists last term, despite missing five weeks of the season through injury.

However, his previous big club experience didn’t go so well, failing to make an impression at Manchester United having made a move to Old Trafford in 2013, before returning to Palace.
