Xavi ‘tempted’ by Premier League amid Chelsea links

Xavi is tempted by the prospect of managing in the Premier League, amid rumours of interest from Chelsea.

The former Barcelona boss has been out of work since leaving the Camp Nou in 2024. Xavi led the Spanish side to La Liga title success in 2022/23, but was relieved of his duties after a trophyless campaign the following year.

The 46-year-old has opted to take a patient approach to his return, though has been consistently linked with the Premier League. Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur have both named as suitors in the past, with Chelsea now reportedly in the frame.

The West Londoners are assessing options for the summer, as the club search for a permanent successor to Liam Rosenior.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Xavi is ‘open’ to a managerial return and tempted by the prospect of the Premier League.

However, there has been no approach or contact with Chelsea at this stage, with the Blues keen to conduct a thorough recruitment process.

Also understood to be in the running are former Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas and Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola, who will leave the Cherries at the end of the current campaign.
