Wright: Manchester United squad look ‘like different players’ under Solskjaer

Arsenal legend Ian Wright has said that Manchester United’s squad look like totally different players under the management of Ole Gunnar Solksjaer.

It has been a barren few years for Manchester United, who looked a shadow of their former selves under the likes of David Moyes, Louis van Gaal and most recently, Jose Mourinho.

However, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at the wheel, United have seemingly rediscovered some of their long-lost attacking traditions, with the likes of Marcus Rashford, Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial thriving under the Norwegian’s tenure.

United put Arsenal to the sword in the FA Cup on Friday evening, and despite the North London side dominating possession, it was United who showed the most attacking instinct, with the Red Devils launching countless counter attacks on their opponents fragile defence.

Analysing the game, Gunners legend Ian Wright said that United deserved their 3-1 win, adding that their players look totally different under their caretaker boss.

“Manchester United look like different players. The way they are playing, they couldn’t have been enjoying it under Jose Mourinho at the end,” Wright told the BBC.

“We’re seeing tremendous performances. Arsenal were trying to score a perfect goal but they just needed to get the ball into the box more. I was thinking at some stage were Arsenal going to drop back a bit but it never happened.

“They did deserve it tonight United, it was a poor performance from Arsenal.”
