Florian Wirtz has said Liverpool were ‘efficient in front of goal’ as the Reds returned to winning ways at Crystal Palace.
Andoni Iraola’s side secured a 3-1 win at Selhurst Park, as goals from Alexis Mac Allister, Wirtz, and Alexander Isak sealed all three points.
Both sides had good chances with Liverpool reliant on Alisson Becker to make a string of saves, including an excellent stop from Daichi Kamada with the game goalless.
That stop arrived just before Mac Allister headed Liverpool in front, before fine finishes from Wirtz and Isak put the visitors in control. Eddie Nketiah scored a consolation for Palace from the penalty spot in the final seconds.
Liverpool’s win saw the Reds bounce back from recent setbacks against Arsenal and Fenerbahce, with Wirtz praising his side’s clinical edge.
“It was a good game from us, really happy about the win and that’s all that counts,” the German said to Sky Sports.
“We were efficient in front of the goal. We didn’t have so many big chances… well, maybe we did, I don’t know, but it felt like we didn’t so scoring three goals is always good. We defended quite well so a good team performance.”
