Wilshere hints at Arsenal exit

Jack Wilshere has hinted that his Arsenal career could be coming towards its end, with a cryptic message on social media.

The Arsenal midfielder has just over two weeks remaining on his current contract at the Emirates, with his deal set to expire on June 30.

The Gunners have offered him a new contract to extend his stay with his boyhood club, although despite making 38 appearances in all competitions last season, the offer on the table would see him take a pay cut with performance related bonuses.

Despite making the most amount of appearances in a season since he made 49 outings for the Gunners in 2010/11, Wilshere has been left out of Gareth Southgate’s England squad for this summer’s World Cup, with the England boss still having lingering doubts over his fitness.

He has been linked with a move to Juventus, Everton and West Ham in recent months, which would of course be a free transfer.

Wilshere has now dropped a hint that he could be about to bring an end to Gunners career, taking to his Instagram story on Wednesday night to say that it’s time to make a decision:

“There comes a time when you have to choose between turning the page and closing the book.” said Wilshere.

Judging by the nature of Wilshere’s post it does suggest that he is now considering drawing a line under his Arsenal career.
