Jack Wilshere has admitted he is already enjoying life at West Ham.
The midfielder joined the Hammers on a free transfer earlier this month after being told by new Arsenal boss Unai Emery that he wasn’t part of his plans for the first team.
After being linked with a move to a number of Premier League and foreign clubs, Wilshere decided to stay in the capital and join West Ham, a club who he had supported as a boy.
Speaking to the press, he has explained that he is already enjoying life at the club, and working under former Man City manager Manuel Pellegrini:
“First and foremost they are good people. [Pellegrini] will come to me in the morning, see how I am and then once we get on the training pitch it is down to work. He is really hands-on on the pitch.
“He is obviously trying to change things. As a team, we are still trying to get used to him and he is getting used to us. So training has been quite intense.
“But that is what we need, what I need especially after a long time off. We have only been back 10 days and I am feeling fitter and fitter each day.
“He has told me the formation and where he wants me to play. That was another reason I wanted to be part of it because I want to be an important player. He made it clear he sees me as an important player.”
